First of all, we’d like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2026 – we’re looking forward to another super year at the club! Thank you for your fantastic support throughout 2025. The New Year is already off to a flying start and there’s plenty to get excited about.

Women's Coaching
Join Danny and Helen for a free, fun women’s coaching session on Sunday 11th January at 5pm.

It’s relaxed, social and open to all standards – a great way to meet other members and enjoy some friendly squash.

To take part, WhatsApp Danny (details in the Members’ Directory), or reply to this message.

Surrey Closed
We wanted to share an important update regarding one of the key events in the county squash calendar – the Surrey Closed 2026.

Please note that the tournament has been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March 2026, instead of the previously advertised January dates. The venue remains unchanged and the event will still be held at The Wimbledon Club.

The Surrey Closed is the county’s premier individual tournament and is open to all eligible Surrey players, not just elite or professional competitors. With multiple grades available, the event is particularly well suited to players who regularly compete in the Surrey Cup, offering competitive and well-matched squash throughout the weekend.

There will be grading categories ranging from SquashLevels 0 through to 5000+, ensuring opportunities for players of all standards to compete in a competitive but inclusive environment.

Grades available are:

A Grade – SquashLevels 5000+

B Grade – SquashLevels 3000–4999

C Grade – SquashLevels 1500–2999

D Grade – SquashLevels 700–1499

E Grade – SquashLevels 0–699

Additional categories include Ladies, plus age-group events at O35, O45, O55, O65, O75 and O75+.

If you have already entered, your entry will remain valid for the new dates. For those yet to sign up, entries are still open and we encourage you to secure your place early, as availability may be limited.

We hope to see plenty of Reigate players flying the flag at The Wimbledon Club in February!

Reigate Two-Day Graded Tournament – 14th & 15th February
Our own graded event is just around the corner and the uptake this year has been phenomenal. All grades are now completely full and running waiting lists, apart from the A Grade, which still has four places remaining.

This will be the busiest weekend yet, featuring truly exceptional squash and a great atmosphere at RSC. If you’re not taking part, please do put the dates in your diary and come along to watch. We’d love to see lots of supporters cheering from the balcony, enjoying the action and helping create a real tournament buzz around the club.

Spectators are always very welcome – so bring friends and family, support the players, and of course give the bar some love too!

Annual Club Tournament – Save the Dates!
Plans for the much-anticipated Annual Club Tournament are taking shape.

We can confirm that matches will begin on Saturday 21st March, with Finals Night on Saturday 2nd May. Entry details will be released soon on MyCourts, so please keep those dates free and watch out for the all-important email with sign-up information.

It’s always one of the highlights of the year, open to players of every standard and we’re looking forward to another brilliant club-wide competition.

Reigate & Banstead Sports Awards – Please Nominate!
We’ve received a reminder from the council that no nominations have yet been submitted from Reigate Squash Club, so this is your chance to put our club stars in the spotlight!

The Sports Awards celebrate outstanding players, coaches and volunteers and it would be wonderful to see RSC represented in 2026.

Please nominate via the council website here:

Good news – the deadline has been extended to Monday 19th January, giving us all a little extra time to recognise the people who help make our club such a success.
