Sadly John Skinner, a star RSC player has passed away.
Many of our members will remember John as a talented left hander who played for Reigate, Surrey, England, Great Britain, England Vets and The Jesters.
John play-coached Alison Malynn (nee Cumings) who describes him as her squash guru with an incredible personality who passed on his enthusiam for the sport to others. It was John who inspired Alison's own coaching style. Danny Lee also remembers John fondly as his mentor who gave him advice, took him to numerous matches, and played him regularly.
John's daughter Jane says that John never lost enthusiasm for squash and was immensely proud of his coaching/teaching and of Alison and Danny for all their achievements in their squash careers.
Sarah Marrington, John's goddaughter said he was a lot of fun and enjoyed reminiscing about his team mates at Reigate in his last few days.
Our thoughts are with Jane and her family.
