In Memory of Tony Fitzhugh

It is with great sadness that we inform members that our friend and fellow club member, Tony Fitzhugh, passed away on Sunday 14th December.
Tony was a member of Reigate Squash Club for approximately 35 years and was made a Life Member in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the club. For over 25 years he administered the 100 Club and was a friendly face helping behind the bar, roles which he carried out with great commitment and good humour.
A keen squash player, Tony particularly enjoyed playing in the leagues and was well known for his regular Sunday morning doubles, sharing the court with good friends Chic Fell, Brian Pyle and Dave Blount. He was a valued part of club life and took great pleasure in being part of the wider club community.
Some members may also be interested to know that Tony was awarded a Cambridge Blue for boxing — a testament to his sporting ability and competitive spirit.
For those who would like to attend, Tony’s funeral will take place at 2.15pm on Friday 16th January at St Richard’s Chapel, Surrey & Sussex Crematorium. Afterwards, all are welcome to join the family at Old Reigatians Rugby Club.
Tony will be greatly missed by many at the club and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
