Court Bookings --- Graded & Club Tournament --- Optasia Champs

COURT BOOKINGS

We’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of booking a court before playing, whether for squash or racketball.

The online court booking system exists for the benefit of all members. Using it properly helps ensure fair access to courts and, just as importantly, that everyone shares the cost of lighting and when required, court maintenance. Playing without a booking means those costs are unfairly carried by others.

We therefore ask all members to please make sure that every session on court is booked in advance, even for short or informal games.

A Reminder from the Booking Rules

We would also like to draw everyone’s attention to the following extract from the club’s booking rules:

“The online booking system is in the interests of all members and it is essential that it runs smoothly. If any member is found to be abusing the booking system the Committee will ask that member to resign.”

This is not about policing play but about fairness, transparency and respect for fellow members.

If you have any questions about booking courts or using the system, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

February Graded Event – Entries Closing Soon

A reminder that entries for our February Graded Event close on 8th February.

  • Only 2 spaces remain in the A Grade
  • All other grades are now full but waiting lists are open

If your grade is full, we strongly encourage you to add yourself to the waiting list. Players do drop out — often due to injury, illness, or simply forgetting they’ve signed up — so waiting lists do move.

This event is kindly sponsored by Danny Lee and Stellar, whose support helps us deliver a high-quality and enjoyable tournament for players and spectators alike — thank you to them.

It’s shaping up to be a fabulous event and even if you’re not playing, please do come along to enjoy some top-quality squash and a great club atmosphere.

Reigate Squash Club Tournament – Open for Entries

Our own club tournament is now open for business and entries are coming in nicely.

With lots of categories available, it’s the perfect opportunity to:

  • Try tournament squash for the first time
  • Play competitively in a friendly, familiar environment
  • Get involved in one of the highlights of the club calendar

A special call-out to our women members:
At the moment, we don’t yet have any women/older junior girls signed up and we’d absolutely love to see that change. Whether you play regularly or more socially, this is a brilliant, supportive way to experience a tournament and there will be categories to suit different levels. If you’ve ever thought “maybe not for me” — this really is the perfect place to start.

If you’ve been thinking about entering — this is your nudge!

Thank You & Call for Volunteers – Optasia Championships 2026

A huge thank you to those members who have already volunteered to help at the Optasia Championships 2026 at The Wimbledon Club — your support is hugely appreciated.
