CPR and defibrillator training session Friday 19th September 7.00pm

Dear Members

I’m coordinating a CPR and defibrillator training session to be held at the club on Friday 19th September, 7.00pm on court C. Please reply to this email if you would like to attend or ask for more information.

Our trainer, David Sullivan, along with club member Francis Fernandes and his wife Caron will again be running the session for us. Their previous sessions at the club were brilliant, so full of information, including explaining the difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest. Francis will tell his own story of his life being saved by CPR and David will run through clear step by step instructions on when and how to carry out CPR using a defibrillator. There will then be an invaluable opportunity for everyone to try CPR using defibrillators on a selection of dummies. And all your questions answered too. This really is a superb life skill to acquire.

This session is being funded by the club, but we would appreciate a £5 donation on the evening from attendees - you might find that it's the best fiver you ever spent. So sign up, come along, get a drink in from the bar from 6.30pm and we'll kick off the session at 7.00pm.

Here are a few comments from the previous training at RSC:

"It was brilliant, we are really pleased we took part."

"Francis, his wife and David were just wonderful in every way throughout and truly inspirational. I felt extremely priviledged to have had the opportunity to listen to their personal experiences and then learn from them in such an enjoyable way how we can make a real difference by giving CPR and using the defibrillator."

"I now know the difference between a heart attack and a cardiac arrest and feel confident I can use a defibrilator to potentially save a life. Francis, Caron and David are amazing."
