Challenger Cup - Saturday 24th October!

Hi everyone,

The Challenger Cup is almost here and we have 13 entrants so far, which is fantastic!

For anyone new to competition, here’s how the day works:

The format
Everyone plays four matches. Each match is best of three games, with PAR 11 scoring. Matches are played across four courts throughout the day. In the first round, players are placed in the draw according to their SquashLevels. The draw is built for 16 players, so with fewer than that, byes will be given where needed. We will send you the draw by Thursday next week.

What to expect
It’s a friendly, supportive event for players at a similar standard, so there’s no need to feel nervous. It’s a great way to experience match play and meet other members.

Marking
The winners of each match mark the next match on the court they have just come off. We will need a few volunteers to mark the first round matches, so if you can help, please let us know.

Eyewear
Players under 18 must wear protective eyewear on court.

Food and drink
We are very much hoping the bar and kitchen area will be open for business and we’ll keep you updated on this. Some players may want to bring food to heat up, so it’s worth planning for that just in case.

What to bring
Your racket, a spare if you have one, water and a snack or two, as there will be breaks between matches.

If you have any questions about how it all works, just ask and we’ll be happy to help.

We can’t wait to see you on court!
Rajesh & Lisa.
