Bar & Kitchen Refurbishment Update

We thought it was time to give everyone an update on the progress of our bar and kitchen refurbishment.

A huge amount of work has already taken place behind the scenes. The old bar and kitchen have been completely stripped out, the new joinery is in place and decorating and electrical work are progressing well. Over the coming weeks, we'll also see the flooring, lighting, cladding and all the finishing touches come together.

As with most refurbishment projects, there have been a few unexpected challenges along the way and unfortunately, we'll miss our original completion target. Some items, particularly the new furniture, also have longer delivery lead times than we'd hoped.

Our priority now is to get the bar and kitchen back open in time for the winter match season. We're working closely with the contractors to make that happen, although we don't yet have a confirmed reopening date. Rather than promise a date and disappoint people, we'll keep everyone updated as soon as we have a clearer timetable.

When we do reopen, the new furniture may not have arrived straight away. If that's the case, we'll temporarily use our existing tables and chairs so that members and visiting teams can enjoy the bar while we wait for the final furniture to be delivered.

A big thank you goes to the small team of volunteers who have put an enormous amount of time into this project, from planning layouts and choosing finishes to kitchen equipment, lighting and furnishings. It's been a real team effort.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone back into the refurbished bar/kitchen area very soon!
